GET READY, GIRL!
SESSION PREP | WARDROBE GUIDE
HEY GORGEOUS!
I can’t wait to meet you and give you a truly amazing experience, beginning to end! If you haven’t already met me, hello there! I’m Brittany, 31 years old, married to my high school sweetheart, with 2 busy boys! I believe everything about who I am brought me to this place, to be your boudoir photographer! I love making women feel incredible, and to love that gorgeous body! I am an emotional creature, and in that, I am caring and sensitive, and love to make others feel great. I have always struggled with my self confidence, but I have really changed the way I feel about myself and how I look through what I do and through my self portraiture work! I want to give this amazing change to you as well. I promise, that you have nothing to worry about during your session with me! I’m less than a shy being about bare skin or getting into awkward poses!!! I want to have fun with you, help you relax, and just enjoy your session experience! I will be there for every step, from styling and prepping prior to the session, to posing and laughing with you during the session!
I hope you’re getting excited for your session coming up! I know it can be overwhelming and/or scary, preparing for your boudoir session, but don’t worry, because I’m here to help you out, girl!
Here are some tips and tricks to help plan and make your session easy, so you can truly enjoy and have a amazing experience!
BEFORE YOUR SESSION
If you plan of having your hair, nails or any waxing done, please do so a week (give or take) prior to your session. We don’t want an mishaps the day before your session!
The best way to prepare, leading up to your session is to stretch, hydrate and moisturize! Boudoir sessions are equivalent to yoga class - the more needy and stretched, the easier posing will be. Water also helps with flexibility, and is going to reduce bloating and clear up your skin.
Get that grooming on a few days before your session! Tamed eyebrows (mine have a mind of their own), buffed clipped nails (no jagged nails or chipped polish, you’ll thank me!), start using lotion regularly (this will help your skin to look and feel fresh and hydrated!).
The night before, please, avoid alcohol or staying up late. This will show in your images and I want you to have the best images possible! Come well rested, AND hydrated. Water, water, water, this will allow your skin to shine bright .. like a diamond!
Make sure to eat a little something healthy before your session! I’ll provide some snacks and drinks, but I don’t want you starving during your session!
Don’t wear any white deodorant the day of your session, nothing kills a gorgeous image like white armpits, girl!
Do not wear a bra the day of your session, and come in loose clothing (avoid underwire, jeans, socks, etc). This prevents any line marks on your body from the bra and/or clothing! Don’t feel like you need to dress up for me, I’ll probably be in leggings too!
Bring at least 2 or 3 outfits that make you feel beautiful and amazing! I will most definitely be available to help you decide on pieces also, this is something we will chat about prior to your session! When you arrive we can pick through everything you brought and I’ll probably throw a few pieces at you from my client closet! Outfits can be anything: lingerie, your birthday suit!, oversized sweaters, knee high socks, jeans and a bra, whatever makes you feel amazing!
This comes without saying .. Try on outfits and lingerie before your session and make sure you feel amazing in them!! And don’t forget to remove any tags and labels!
On the day of your session bring a nude, white, and black thong undies to go under anything from the client closet!
Don’t forget any jewelry, accessories or shoes you may be wanting!
Add your female friends to the group, seriously - they will FLIP when they see those images posted!
Most important - RELAX! It’s going to be so fun and be a amazing experience for you! Don’t worry about anything, we’ll have a great time, and make some great work together. You are going to be BEAUTIFUL!
FAQs
WHEN WILL I SEE MY PICTURES?
As mentioned in your consultation and the initial Session Guide I sent you, you will be scheduled to return to the studio within 14 days after your session (up to 21 days). If you are not local to my home studio/we shot in another location, we will hold your Reveal and Order Session online. If this is not a possibility for you, let me know so we can make alternate arrangements.
HOW DOES THE ORDERING APPOINTMENT WORK?
Whether you see your images immediately after your session or a few weeks later, your Reveal and Ordering Appointment is your time to view all of your gorgeousness and decide which images you will be purchasing! We pull all of your images up on the TV or computer and go through them one at a time, I will show you some images in color and some in black & white. You will be presented with about 40-60 professional, fully retouched and edited images. There are a variety of different print and digital options, and with your payment in full you will receive the prints and products in 6-8 weeks. Products will either be shipped to you or I will have you pick them up at the studio, depending on whether you are local or not.
Payment options are: cash or credit card.
I offer payments in full, payment plans, (and now!) prepayment plans.
There is no option to have an online gallery or a second Ordering Appointment.
All sales are final. Once the Ordering Appointment is completed, no further changes can be made to your order. This is studio policy for all clients and no exceptions will be made. You may not change, alter, add, reduce, or request any other types of changes after the Ordering Appointment.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
WARDROBE GUIDE
First of all, congrats on taking the leap and booking your intimate portraiture photography session! It's going to be fun, an amazing experience, and super empowering for you. Wardrobe is an essential part of your intimate portraiture session. A huge part of the success of your session is using proper wardrobe that is not only beautiful, but that flatters your body. It doesn't have to be complicated. I am a believer in stripping down. Less is more. Keep it simple. In fact, I really love doing some artistic nudes and highly recommend you give it a try!
Many of my clients use my fun client wardrobe, and some clients opt to shop and bring their own hand selected pieces. Here is my cheat sheet for you to shop and know what to bring for your session. Hope it helps you! Feel free to reach out with questions any time so I can help you through this part of the process.
It's important that we focus on what you are going to wear, in a way that minimizes the outfits effect on the image so that what you are wearing doesn't take away from YOU! When we focus too much on these stand-out outfits and props, we lose focus on our goal, which is to EMPOWER YOU! With this in mind, I have created the following guide to help you select the best wardrobe for your upcoming intimate portraiture session with me.
I want you: vulnerable, exposed, raw, and extremely beautiful. It may sound intimidating, but it's my job to empower you and provide you with a body positive experience. It's about reconnecting you with you: your femininity, sensuality, your sexuality, and your womanhood.
Wearing the WRONG pieces can actually ruin images, whether it's because it doesn't fit, is a bad color, has a pattern that doesn't photograph well, or is simply not the best choice for your body type. Why wear jewelry when you normally don't wear any? Why hide behind a costume or a prop?
I have curated a Client Wardrobe that is always growing. I have pieces inclusive for all women including lingerie, robes, tanks, jewelry, and more. I do not charge a rental fee for using items from the Client Wardrobe. I carry lingerie in various sizes.
Make it stand out.
The only things I *require* you to bring to your session are 1 nude and 1 black plain seamless thongs or G-strings in like new condition, for wearing underneath the client wardrobe pieces, and 2-3 of your own outfit choices.
Ideas to bring
Some ideas for staple items you might want to bring to your session, but are not required:
Black high waisted panties, and a strappy/lacy/sexy black panties, bralettes or other soft cupped/stretch lace bras.
Your favorite jewelry, just a few pieces is fine, probably your everyday pieces and a few special or statement pieces to go with your outfits.
Fun accessories like fur coats, leather jackets, vests, thigh highs, fishnet tights, or anything clothing related that brings out your personality.
FISHNETS!! or thigh highs or patterned tights. These make for a great add-on to an outfit, or a super sexy way to go nude (YAAASSS!!!). Fishnets are one of my favorites!
Something from your everyday wardrobe like a sweater, t-shirt, button up dress shirt, jeans or jean shorts, something "off the cuff" that you love that we can make super sexy, or really speak to who you are!
What not to bring
Props. Boudoir is not pinup photography, and props are a distraction from our focus (YOU), now there are a few exceptions - I’ll clarify below!
Heavily worn, tattered, soiled, or scuffed items
Items that do not fit (too big, too small) the way you want them to.
Sex toys (sorry, not for this session! haha)
Padded bras

NAILS - If you are going to get your nails done, I recommend selecting either a French Manicure style or a neutral shade like; nude, black, white, and grey are okay in my book! Red or Burgundy is also a nice color. Glitter is okay. Stay away from blues, greens, yellows, oranges, purples, pinks, and basically all other eye catching colors so they don't take over your images.
TANNING | SPRAY TANS - Do not spray tan! Your spray tan will not photograph well and it will stain my furniture, carpets, bedding, and clothing. I do not advocate for tanning beds if you have not used them before, as they can cause for redness and blotchiness of the skin and we will not color correct your skin tone in post-processing. I prefer you come as you are. Your natural skin is going to photograph beautifully.
SUMMERTIME | VACATION TAN LINES - Editing out tan lines is next to impossible. If you do not want tan lines in your pictures, stay out of the sun for a week or two before your session or schedule your session in the off season (November - April). If you are going on vacation, schedule your boudoir session for before you leave. I can send your images out to a magician to edit your tan lines out, but this will be subject to an additional fee. The only other option is to A) deal with your tan lines in your images (some people think they look sexy!) or B) select wardrobe that will conceal your tan lines.
PROPS - Like I said, I’m not big on props, because this can really take away from what we’re doing in your session, and take the focus away from YOU. However, if you play guitar, we could discuss a few shots while you’re playing (in a very natural lifestyle form), a beautiful big vintage book because you’re a big reader, things like this. So, please let me know if something is on your mind, I’d love to discuss this!
